Skyward Family Access FAQ
What is Skyward Family Access?
Family Access is a secure web application that provides you with direct access to your child’s information via the Internet and allows you to view your child’s attendance, grades, schedule, progress, assignments and emergency information. In addition, you can set your preferences (text, phone, email) for our new notification system, Skylert. You can even download the mobile app for your smartphone or tablet!
Yes. Family Access is a free service and is available to Parents and Legal Guardians with children enrolled in the district.
Who has access to my child’s information?
Due to FERPA (Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act), a student’s educational record may only be accessed by a Parent/Legal Guardian. For the purposes of accessing Family Access, Parent/Legal Guardian includes both Biological/Adoptive Parent(s) or Court Appointed Legal Guardian(s).
Primary Guardians will receive their account information via US mail during the first few weeks of the school year.
Additional Parents/Legal Guardians may request a Family Access account by contacting the office at their child's school.
Is there a mobile app for Family Access?
Yes. Free for any Skyward user, Skyward Mobile Access is the fastest and easiest way for you to access your data from your smartphone or tablet at any time! Parents can see what class their child is in or their grade on the latest exam. Skyward Mobile Access is a great way to stay connected even while on the go.

Yes. All 2nd-12th grade students at Port Huron Schools have been issued a Universal Login ID which will be used to sign in to Student Access. They can view their schedule, grades, attendance and more. Students can also download the mobile app for their smartphone or tablet!
Will I be able to see all of my children in one Family Access account?
Yes. You will be able to see all of the children for whom you are the Parent/Legal Guardian. If you do not see all of your children listed in the pull down menu at the top of your home page (next to the Skyward logo), please contact the office at your child's school. We will make the corrections as soon as the guardian status is verified.

How do I sign in to Skyward Family Access?
If you are having trouble signing into Family Access, a pop-up blocker may be the issue. You will need to turn off pop-up blockers to allow access. For more information on pop-ups, click one of the following for the browser you use: Internet Explorer / Google Chrome / Mozilla Firefox
Can I change or add my email address and phone numbers?
Yes, after logging into Skyward, select the My Account link at the top. From there, you can change your email address and 2nd & 3rd phone numbers. You are also able to view your address information. If you have a change of address or a change to your primary phone number, please contact your child’s school office.
What information can I view in Family Access?
You will be able to view Attendance, Schedules, Gradebook assignments, Discipline and more. For a sneak peek, feel free to view this short presentation: Family Access Overview
How do I see assignments and tests?
After entering Skyward, click on the Gradebook link. This will give you a list of classes and grades. Click on a grade, and a new window will open displaying further details about the selected grade.
